THE SUMMARY

JESUS | CHRISTIANITY

MUHAMMAD | ISLAM

The God of Jesus Christ sent His Son to die for you. The god of Muhammad demands that you send your son to die for him.

I was trying to rationalize lately how people who may have never heard of Jesus go the heaven. Or even other mono(Like Islams) I think I have just about given up on trying to justify the idea that people can find God through the exact opposite of what he sent... especially when it directly contradicts scripture.

"I am the way the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." - John 14:6
"He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." - 1 John 5:12
"...
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12

And a new one for me...
"
For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will." - John 5:21
"
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." - John 5:24

So I would guess that a person would have to hear the gospel in order to be saved... but on the other hand you have John 15:22 which says: "
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin."

I honestly don't have the answer... but as It says, Christ is the only way to the Father, and He gives life to whom He will.

Republican vs. Libertarian (e-mail)

This is an excerpt from an e-mail that I sent to my best friend:

I have been really disappointed in the republican party lately... Like, I used to like Bush... alot. I had his picture hanging on my wall. I was on the business advisory council for the NRCC (national republican congressional committee). I don't anymore... but I am really frustrated with a couple different things, like the overspending (even tho he's cut it down some what, I still think it's unreasonable). And I think we (as a country) are starting to lean toward an authoritarian government because we rely on the government *so* much... to object to things we don't like, to take care of the people that are "unable" to care for themselves... that we ask the government to take authority that even we as the people (who give the government their authority) don't have... And it's really frustrating me. Not that the libertarian party is perfect.... (gawd, I feel like I'm confessing to lesbianism here. *sigh*)
But... honestly, I think you should be proud to represent the political party that you stand for (after all, you choose them). And, I haven't lately... that really bothers me.
So that's why I was looking into the libertarian thing. Not that they or their platform is perfect by any hallucinogenic stretch of the imagination... There would be practically nothing left of the government if they were able to abolish everything that they would like to. The platform need to be alot less anarchist. But even as it is I feel that it is closer to the original intent of the founding fathers and the constitution than what we have now... (I just refrained from calling it a "ridiculous authoritarian government.")
At any rate... I'm getting their e-mails, and they have a libertarian up for election in CA. The vote is tomorrow, and they were asking for volunteers to call and encourage people to vote for him. I volunteered.
I haven't called yet, but they have placed over 2,000 calls (I know, that's pitiful). And, I'm reading that... and I am so excited that my eyes start tearing up.... I honestly don't know what's wrong w/ me. But I'm excited about politics! About volunteering for a political party... and I always just got annoyed when the NRCC called me to ask me to attend this event, or dinner, or send me an award, or ask me for a donation. I don't know. All I know is that I actually think that even though I think they are too revolutionary, this country and our government needs a little bit of revolution (or revision) to help balance us out. And as crazy as it may sound, I believe in what they're doing.
